November 2017: Why not pop down to Galleons Reach this weekend and meet the cast of Cinderella. Who will be entertaining the crowds, just watch out for those awful ugly sisters being mean to poor Cinders!

 

November 2017: It's Spalding, Grantham and Clacton's turn this weekend for the commencement of their childrens chorus rehearsals. All children are now into rehearsals which is fantastic! We appreciate all the parents that have to take time out to Chaperone, or be taxi for their child as it is a big commitment giving up a lot of your november and December time.

 

November 2017: And so the rehearsals commence. This weekend we see the childrens chorus for our Barking, Grays and Runcorn pantomimes begin learning their routines for their pantomimes. Having seen what the Choreographers plan on teaching you all, you are certainly in for a treat.

 

October 2017: We have the last few places to fill for our crew positions, so if you have the experience and would like to apply for our Company Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager and other crew positions then please email Helen@polkadotpantomimes.co.uk with a copy of your CV.

 

October 2017: It was lovely seeing so many loved pets this weekend. We would like to welcome, Reggie, Tilly and Lola onboard. The cast of Beauty and the Beast in Grays cannot wait to meet you all!

 

October 2017: PANTO POOCH AUDITIONS: We are holding auditions on 21st October from 1pm-3pm for our Panto Pooch that will star alongside Belle in Beauty and the Beast at the Thameside Theatre, Grays. Prebooking is required, so please email admin@polkadotpantomimes with your details.

 

October 2017: It's full steam ahead here at HQ, with only 6 weeks till out first lot of childrens chorus rehearsals commence, please ensure oyu have ordered the correct shoes and also the tights from Movedancewear. You don't need the tights for the rehearsals but certainly the shoes. We look forward to seeing you all very soon.

September 2017 WOW WOW and more WOW, with over 120 people turning up to the auditions at Pineapply, what a fantastic turn out. There is some amazing talent out there and trying to choose was very difficult for our judges! Well done to everyone!

September 2017: PRO DANCER AUDITIONS. We are holding auditions for Pro Dancers for all our pantomimes on Tuesday 26th September from 11am-2pm at Pineapple Dance Studios, Covent Garden, London. Must be proficient in Ballet, Street, Pas De Deux and Tap. Acro skills are an advantage but not essential. Must be able to understudy roles as

August 2017: The cast from Beauty and the Beast will be guests this weekend at the Clacton Air Show. Celebrating 26 years of the show, the cast will be there to meet and greet you, have pictures and sign autographs. A great day for all the family!

 

August 2017: We are delighted to announce that TOWIE STAR DAN OSBORNE will be joining us in Beauty and the Beast in Clacton this year. Playing the ever mischievous  Gaston! Tickets for this tale as old as time are selling out fast. Don't delay book today!

 

July 2017: This weekend sees the last of our childrens auditions for our 2017 pantomimes, Beauty and the Beast at the Thameside Theatre, Grays and Cinderella at The Broadway Theatre, Barking. We anticipate a high turnout for these auditions, so remember to be on time, don't forget your paperwork and of course bring those smiles!

 

July 2017: Another amazing childrens audition day at Runcorn, the talent was incredible, it makes it such a hard decision for us. There are varying factors which we have to use to make our decisions. It could be that we need everyone to be roughly the same height or it's a show that requires more boys than girls. It is always a difficult one but we do have a reserve list and always have children that drop out for one reason and another. It's always worth checking prior to auditioning that your child's school will give them the time off as this has sometimes become of factor of children withdrawing and to go through and audition and be successful is amazing.

 

June 2017: What a fantastic turnout for our Grantham and Clacton childrens chorus auditions, as well as the lovely pooch's that arrived to be Belle's furry friend. This weekend sees the turn of The Brindley, for all children wanting to take part in our Sleeping Beauty pantomime. Don't forget to arrive on time and bring a drink with you! All this dancing is thirsty business!, see you Saturday.

 

June 2017: As well as the Clacton childrens chorus auditions this weekend, we also have our Pooch auditions. Do you have a pooch that is destined for stardom?  The hunt is on for this years Pantomime Pooch to star in Beauty and the Beast at the Princes Theatre, Clacton. Auditions are at the theatre on Saturday 25th June from 1-2pm. June 2017: This weekend sees the childrens auditions for both our Grantham and Clacton pantomimes. Grantham this year will host the amazing Peter Pan! So not only are we looking for a childrens chorus, we also require lost boys which can be played by both girls and boys and also Michaels and Johns.  What an amazing opportunity for all the local children.

June 2017: WOW! We can't believe we are in June already! This can only mean one thing, it's the start of the childrens auditions! This week is the turn of our hometown of Spalding. All children wanting to audition for Aladdin are required to attend the South Holland Centre on Saturday 10th June at 10am. Please remember to bring the audition pack with you, filled out ready and also a drink! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

 

May 2017: We are pleased to announce the childrens chorus auditions for Rapunzel at the Stamford Arts Centre will be on Sunday 17th September from 1pm-3pm at the Arts Centre. May 2017: It's not long now till the childrens auditions start! Have you downloaded your pack off the website? Click on the Chorus 17 tab on the left hand side. This page will have all the packs for each pantomime. Each pack is full of information on what is expected at the auditions, times, location, it also contains the rehearsal dates for each pantomime. You must be able to commit to every date. Over the next 4-6 weeks we will audition hundreds of children at each location, we look forward to see old and new faces. Good luck everyone!

 

May 2017: We are delighted to reveal that X Factor and Celebrity Big Brother star Stevi Ritchie will star as French Franc in this years pantomime Beauty and the Beast.

Also joining the cast and back by popular demand is Grays very own Luke Coldham who played Smee in last year’s Peter Pan, and this year will return as Dame Dolly Doughnut which audiences will love!

March 2017: The exciting launch of this years Clacton pantomime happens this Friday at 9am! Look out for more information on the show schedule and get your tickets booked!

 

February 2017: With all the sets and costumes now cleaned and washed and back at our store. It is now rest time for a couple of weeks before the craziness of the 2017 pantomime season starts.

But you can still start planning for this years season, tickets are already on sale at most of our locations, with some Christmas Eve shows already sold out and schools are booking already to ensure they get their Christmas fix! so all in all, behind the scenes of Polka Dot Pantomimes takes a short rest, our theatres and audiences firmly have pantomimes in their minds!

 

January 2017: The curtain has closed on our final pantomime of this season, Cinderella in Runcorn. A fantastic show to end the season on.

Once again we would like to thank all the cast, crew, children, chaperones, everyone that brought a ticket and to all that were involved within this show and all the other shows for that matter. THANK YOU!

 

January 2017: Aladdin has flown for the last time over Peking and Barking. Another outstanding show from the cast. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work on this amazing show. See you later in the year for Cinderella!

 

January 2017: Peter Pan has officially been the best pantomime ever at The Thameside Theatre. It's been an amazing run and we are so sad that it has to come to an end, but don't fear, Beauty and the Beast is back this year!

 

January 2017: Snow White in Grantham comes to a close this week but if you haven't had your fix of panto, this show moves to the Stamford Arts Centre, this weekend 6th-9th January, the shows are practically sold out so don't delay, book today!

December 2016: Another 2017 announcement, Cinderella will be gracing the stage at The Broadway Theatre, Barking. Beauty and the Beast will be heading to the Thameside Theatre Grays.

 

December 2016: We haven't even finished yet in Grantham yet we have next year's pantomime on sale already! Peter Pan will be flying across Grantham town in December 2017. Tickets are already selling well with Christmas Eve almost sold out!

 

December 2016: Time is flying by in pantoland with record breaking ticket sales over the the locations. These pantomimes are the best ever!

December 2016: Record breaking audiences are heading to our Aladdin pantomime at The Broadway, Barking and to Peter Pan at the Thameside Theatre, Grays. It's not too late to get your tickets but hurry as many shows are sold out.

December 2016: December has finally arrived in pantoland. Which means it's all go! Good luck to all the cast and crew at the Thameside theatre, Grays who's opening show is this week. Break a leg everyone! (Just not literally!)

 

November 2016: It's Grays turn this weekend as the set made it's way to the Thameside Theatre. All Michael's and Johns have had their flying lessons alongside Wendy and Peter! You are in for a real treat this year. HOOK your tickets now!

 

November 2016: And we're off, the first lorry has been loaded with the set for Aladdin in Barking, the cast join them today to start rehearsals, good luck everyone!

 

November 2016: The cast of Jack & the Beanstalk from the Lowther Pavilion are looking forward to seeing all the children at the panto workshop this afternoon, Friday 4th November. We shall then be going to the fireworks display at Fylde Rugby Club, far too much excitement in one day!

November 2016: We are looking for a highly motivated person to be a part of our team at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn for the forthcoming pantomime season. Contract dates: 3 December - 15 January

The duties of the role are to fit all cast and chorus into their costumes, make any necessary alterations, ongoing repairs, laundering of costumes and dresser for any quick changes during the performances.

November 2016: Into November means full steam ahead at HQ, all the childrens chorus rehearsals start soon and it's only 4 weeks till the opening show! Where has the year gone!

 

October 2016: It's very exciting here at HQ today, we have the children's chorus from our local panotmime Beauty and the Beast having their costume fitting. Loads of sequins and sparkle as normal! Not long till their rehearsals start. The build up to opening shows has begun.

 

October 2016: You may have heard that the Broadway Barking had a small fire a few weeks ago. The cast from the pantomime Aladdin at the Broadway Barking popped into the theatre to see how the repair works were going and even leant a hand in the clean up - what a great cast they are!

The Broadway is due to reopen very shortly but in the meantime, you can still book your tickets for the pantomime - or indeed any other shows either online or by calling the box office on 020 8507 5607!
